Wow, I had a wonderful weekend with my son and future daughter-in-law and her mom. I got there on Friday afternoon, checked in at the gate to the subdivision, and spent the next two days getting to know Kristi's mom, Connie. I really loved her and feel if we lived close together we could be really good friends. They have a gorgeous home but she is so down to earth, fun, sweet and kind, that I don't even mind the thought of her coming to my humble little house whenever she can. We ate lasagne, salad, garlic bread, 14-layer chocolate cake, fruit, and so much other stuff that I fear to step on the scales. However, I walked this afternoon and plan to do so a couple more times this week and hope the pounds don't show up. ha.
What made the weekend so much more enjoyable was that a BIG prayer was answered. I had only been at Connie's with Stuart for about 15 to 20 minutes when his cell phone rang. He stepped outside to answer it, and when he came in, he announced that he was now employed!!!!!!! He's been without a job for a while now but he and we knew God would provide in His timing. He is now employed with American International Movers -- a company that moves military personnel from one base to another. Stuart will be in charge of coordinating the moves, which will be something totally different from what he is used to doing, and he is excited. There's a lot of room for growth in this company, so I'm praying he will work hard and make a great career for himself.
Stuart's and Kristi's wedding is July 18th and the job has taken a lot of stress off of him. Kristi is kinda getting antsy as she still has a list of things to do. We did make some progress while I was there in that she chose the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. Now I just have to make the call and get the details nailed down. Also, we went to Men's Warehouse and got the tuxedos chosen and while there Stuart got measured and fitted for his. Come to think about it, I need to go shopping for a dress as well. Hmmmmmm.....
There's a whole list of things I need to be doing as well (unrelated to the wedding): Write three thank-you notes, plan next month's ladies' meeting program, study my Sunday School lesson, pay several bills, clean off my dresser and chest as I have Mississippi company coming Thursday afternoon and plan to let her sleep in my room, make several phone calls, and on and on I could go. So why am I sitting here yakking? I'm waiting for some pictures to upload to Kodak Gallery so I can order prints. Guess I better check to see if they are done.
Until next time...Wanda.
